We’re hearing reports from our site regulars that the new-look Electronic Programme Guide for Sky+ HD boxes is set to be rolled out to Sky+ HD boxes from next week.
It seems that HD boxes from Thomson will get the upgrades first, with other boxes rolled out gradually over the coming months.
The new EPG includes a picture-in-picture screen to let you browse the guide whilst still watching your selected channel. There’s also an improved search facility, and improved grouping by programme genre.
Here’s a sneak peek at the new EPG layout:
To discuss the new EPG, or let us know when your HD box has got the upgrade, please post in our Sky forum.
At last, it looks like sky are coming up with something useful. Goto anytime and watch the EPG demo
It’s a disaster. Smaller programme area and no page up/page down. Less useful but prettier. Fail.
There is a page up/down – you do it using the channel up/down buttons.
Hope they allow to change the colour of the menu. I just hate the yellow / blue.
It is horrible to use! :@
I want the old planner back!!!
There is no scroll around on planner so if you have lots of items recorded you need to go through them all to get to the very recent recordings! And the size has decreased.
is there anyway to update new guide yoursekf thanks
HIDEOUS…..A Huge backward step, with small print and ackward useage what is SKY thinking about? Does anyone know how to revert back to the old menu? I’m gonna end up divorced over this….HELP! I’ve called SKY and they were extremely cheeky as if i’d just rediculed their new baby. I do hope I can get the old menu back.
Personally I can’t understand why so many negative comments I’m sure the nay sayers will learn to like it over time as it has many useful features like the search function. You can actually switch off the mini TV mode if you don’t like it anyway.
