TV off in Oxfordshire

TV aerial TV services in parts of Oxfordshire are off-air today (13 May 2010) as a result of a serious transmitter fire at the Beckley transmitter site.

Beckley serves Oxford, Banbury, Bicester, Abingdon, Didcot, Witney and parts of Aylesbury. The transmitter broadcasts Freeview and analogue TV, as well as some radio services. It’s estimated that 400,000 viewers may be affected. Hopefully, services should be up-and-running again on Friday.
