The Freeview website includes products that are recommended especially for Freeview. As such, they now refer to the modern 4K TVs or Smart TVs. These include apps and some are preinstalled and others must be installed as well as the TV owner getting registered for various streaming services and especially for the BBC.

Many of us already have devices with access to the Google Play Store which is OK if the devices can work with all apps but sometimes they aren’t.

Apps must be updated now and then and that may be a matter of activating the auto-update feature.

The Freeview article mentions famous brands and that’s a good starting point as the budget TV versions may not be as good overall.

YouTube offers extra video tutorial advice about TVs and certain makes and models and their TV settings.

There are some privacy issues that may be cause for concern so we can’t just say yes to every general condition required.

It’s important to learn about the side panel connectors and the back panel connectors and what eBay sellers offer as adaptors for scart and HDMI and VGA and so on. We need several HDMI and USB connectors nowadays and ways we can record to USB or to a DVD Recorder or some HDMI DVD Recorder instead.
