Make an offer is a way to beat the watchers competing for an item. It’s a way to save some money as well. Today, an item that could have fetched about £35 to £40 was ordered for £25 including delivery costs. In fact, we set up the automatic payment authorisation if the offer gets accepted. Otherwise, the seller suggests a higher counter offer or rejects the bid or up to 3 bids. Many items are pre-owned and without any warranty coverage so if items are not looking brand new then we shouldn’t pay brand new prices anyway. Some items are identified that the seller won’t accept any returns while others state they will. So be aware of the seller’s terms before risking problems later.

We don’t always get the accessories or the instructions or bill of sale receipts, so we’ve no real control over such sales. Sellers may not even respond to our questions. Look at the 100% feedback rating if it’s there. Decide to use Paypal if that’s an option or spreading the cost over a few months. Paypal doesn’t identify our credit card or bank details. The ebay protection situation may not work out in our favour anyway. So keep your buying offers low at first.
