The Sky customers get a tiny Sky Stream box. There was no Scart cable output, but there was a TV antenna input. I don’t know if the HDMI cable will work with the HDMI to Scart conversion unit for separate DVD Recorder recordings.
The Sky TV Guide showed dozens of TV channels, including HD channels. Lots of TV channels I would get on a Sky+ HD box would be missing.
Netflix service is included, and several apps were shown, too.
The service doesn’t require a Sky dish as it uses the Ethernet Broadband option to get a reliable connection.
The set-ups took time, but the service displays well on a large 4K TV screen.
It’s a limited workaround, but I still use the NOW TV service on the ROKU set-top box, with more useful apps and extra channel options. I use the Netgem Netbox and the TV antenna to get Freeview and over a hundred extra Netgem TV channels for free.
The 4K Smart TVS upscale displays, but the Sky Stream HD channels are worth consideration.
