Information on digital TV and radio in the UK › Forums › Help and Advice › TV settings to adjust as explained by ZDNET
Tagged: brightness, colour, contrast, eco-setting, menus, sharpness, sub-menus, tests, TV controls, TV settings
Here’s another critical review of the TV Makers and their chosen setting names for similar features concerning brightness, contrast, sharpness and Motions controls. It’s difficult to assess what will work on all TV channels nowadays so it’s no wonder we may need to customise certain settings to suit some TV displays.
Take note that TV showrooms deliberately have a set of controls meant to provide maximum colours just to showcase the TVs but at home these settings aren’t that useful as ZDNET explains.
I’ve tested for various settings and require high brightness and contrast but the article says to start off low and build up to higher values to see what the results are.
We must avoid any preset low energy or eco-setting as these aren’t bright enough and will put new buyers off. So it helps to explore settings and especially sound and video settings.
Bear in mind that some customisation won’t be the same for every user setting option such as Cinema and Sports and Vivid and so on.
