Every now and then I use the ROKU set-top box to visit what’s available on YouTube. So I can see the latest advice for Firestick, Roku, LG TV, Hisense TV, Freeview, Freely, Sky, Virgin Media and so on. There are videos about settings and secret or hidden menu actions and ways to clear some features that are not user-friendly or ways to spy on us whether we give consent or not. Some settings are there as a default situation that may grant sellers or products to track us or even use our TV cameras to spy on us. Set-top boxes may be sold with malware or impose terms that none of us want to allow. So many apps request access to our devices and our USB drives such as for files and photos.
