BT Vision users take note. If you are using BT Vision with Comtrend Powerline Adapters, note that there is a product recall in effect.
The advise from BT is not to touch them until you have been sent a replacement, and there is a page of advice here: BT Vision Comtrend Recall Notice
The Comtrend adapters are notorious for generating RF interference and are disliked by most amateur radio enthusiasts as they can wipe our shortwave and HF reception (See: Powerline interference) – Hopefully the replacements will be a little more kind to the spectrum…
Have received the BT Vision letter advising of this problem.
There is no mention whatsoever of being sent a replacement it just says “new adapters are available from a range of on line and high street retailers” In other words go out and buy one.
So far have identified costs of £70 to £99 for these. This was supplied as part of the BT package and is now failing and dangerous surely BT should supply existing customers with a replacement otherwise I think their contract could be void. as a 76 year old this expenditure is quite significant for me.
