The Nookie TV service was supplied with a Nookie TV Box, which was a small Internet-enabled set-top box. Plug one end into the Internet, and the other end into the TV, and you could access, on subscription, adult content 24 hours a day.
It seems that subscribers are being told via the Nookie TV website, the following:
“Unfortunately, due to financial hardship, we are ceasing all operations and discontinuing NookieTV broadcast service as of May 15th 2010. We will not be asking our customers to return their IPTV equipment. Therefore no further action is required on your part. Thank you for your past business.”
Nookie TV offered a unique, albeit specialist, solution to a video-on-demand TV service. The set-top box supplied with the service contained a pink ‘Panic button’ that could be used in the event of an unplanned viewing interruption.
Customers of the service are not required to return the Nookie Box hardware, according to their website.
