Sky Anytime Plus rollout begins
Sky has started a slow rollout of their new Sky Anytime + service.
In case you’re not familiar with Anytime Plus, this is their new on demand TV service that makes use of a Sky Broadband connection to let you watch live TV via a Sky+ HD box.
Sky Anytime+ offers over 500 movies and a large collection of TV shows that can be viewed on-demand. The service can be accessed via the Sky+ HD box interface.
To be able to watch Sky content over the Internet, you’ll need the following four things:
- A Sky subscription
- A Sky+ HD Box
- Sky Broadband Everyday Lite or Sky Broadband Unlimited
- A connection from your Sky+ HD box to your Broadband router
As stated above, the service is only available to those getting their broadband from Sky. You should also note that downloads via Sky Anytime+ count towards your monthly download limits (unlike BT Vision’s service where on-demand content doesn’t eat into your allowance).
Sky+ Anytime will be rolled out across the UK to Sky users between now and January 2011.
