Sky has today launched Sky Atlantic and Sky Atlantic HD, on Sky channel 108.
This new channel will broadcast a host of US imports from the American HBO channel, following a deal between Sky and HBO last year.
Viewers can expect new series including the Prohibition-era drama Boardwalk Empire, as well as the fantasy drama Game of Thrones. The channel will screen the seventh series of Entourage, Treme, new comedies How To Make It In America and Bored to Death, as well as the comedy-drama Weeds.
The channel will also premiere the brand new fifth series of Mad Men (formerly seen on BBC 4), as well as the mini-series Mildred Pierce.
Sky Atlantic will also offer classic HBO series such as The Sopranos and Six Feet Under.
Sky Atlantic is exclusive to Sky Digital. The channel is included as part of Sky’s Variety Pack, and will be free to all other Sky TV customers until 31st August 2011.
