Previously available on Freeview channel 35, Virgin 1 +1 used to broadcast from 6pm to 1am. It has been removed from Multiplex D, and that evening slot has been used to allow the history channel Yesterday to broadcast into the evening.
The normal Virgin 1 service remains on Freeview channel 20, broadcasting from 9am to 3am
Update: In Wales? See the note on Virgin 1’s site: “From June 1st Virgin +1 will not be available in Freeview homes. Virgin 1+1 will still be available for Virgin Media and Sky customers and Virgin 1 remains at channel 20 in Freeview homes. Unfortunately this does mean that Freeview viewers in Wales will not be able to receive Virgin 1 at all in peak and may need to subscribe to a pay service should they wish to continue to enjoy Virgin 1 in peak. We are really sorry for any inconvenience this causes our viewers. If you have any queries, please call 0870 043 4141.”
They apologise for any inconvenience! ~ Bloody typical of virgin, they squeeze more and more from viewers. Thank god I left them
I am very dissapointed with Virgin 1+1 being removed from Freeview as now I cannot watch startrek voyager or deep space nine in the evening. Please put this back on freeview.
Angry tv viewer
It’s a shame this is gone. It’s so convenient to catch up 1hr later on certqain progs.

Unbelievable. Virgin had better bloody think again if they think im gonna pay anything to them for this channel – there was no need to remove this.
