The SwitchHelp Site was designed for the 2012 Switchover. The Switchover is not complete, so this site is no longer maintained. We keep it live as it still may contain some useful historical information. See SwitchHelp Index for a list of all pages.

Do I need a High Definition TV?
Digital TV and High-definition TV are different things.
High Definition TV uses more lines to give you a better, sharper picture when viewing programmes that have been recorded in HD.
You do not need to buy a high definition (HD) TV set to receive digital TV after the switchover, although if you’re interested in watching in high definition, you may want to go for an HD TV set.
How do I get High Definition TV?
